The La Crescenta Woman’s Club, a philanthropic group that has been giving to deserving individuals and organizations for almost a century, will turn 100 years old in 2011. Its clubhouse, one of the oldest buildings left standing in La Crescenta, will be 86. (Its image in stained glass may be viewed at the new La Crescenta Library). On Sept. 25, the club will raise money to celebrate this special occasion with a spaghetti dinner including opportunity prizes and an Italian film travelogue.
Everyone is invited to join the club members for this fun evening. The clubhouse is located at 4004 La Crescenta Ave., La Crescenta. Dinner at 6:00 p.m., $15/person, and deadline is Saturday, Sept. 17. For tickets call Marianne Jennings at (818) 249-5443.
