LCPC announces return of Wednesday Night PEAK classes
La Crescenta Presbyterian Church is renewing its Wednesday night PEAK classes and dinner. PEAK stands for Praise, Education for Adults and Kids. Dinner is from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. and classes run from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Classes are available for children age 6 months through junior high and also for adults. This fall there will be two classes offered for adults: “Fuel,” led by Lee Cook, will focus on finding strength through the journey of faith. Local marriage and family therapist Dr. Rick Lyon will lead the other class, ”We Are All Addicted – Stepping Stones into the Kingdom of God.” The class runs through November and will focus on a 12-step program that is based on the beatitudes from the Book of Matthew.

St. Luke’s Fall Kick-Off
St. Luke’s Anglican Church invites the community to attend its Fall Kick-Off on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 11:30 a.m. on the terrace outside the Seventh Day Adventist Church Chapel. The Kick-Off is a unique opportunity for St. Luke’s parishioners as well as the community to meet various ministry leaders and learn more about the church’s many available volunteer opportunities. The community is encouraged to attend and explore the diverse and vibrant ministry offerings St. Luke’s will display and make available to attendees.

MOPS returns to CV
MOPS – Mothers of Preschoolers – Crescenta Valley, serves moms and caregivers with kids age 0-6 years. The new semester starts in October at Open Bible Church on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $100 a semester and includes hot breakfast, speakers, crafts and childcare. Lift Up La Crescenta continues
Lift Up La Crescenta (above), which was held this past May to bring the area’s residents together to pray on behalf of its schools, businesses, families and individuals, continued its mission of praying for the community on Sunday, Aug. 8 and will continue every second Sunday of the month. Parishioners from St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Glendale, La Crescenta Presbyterian Church and Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in La Crescenta will come together monthly to bathe the Crescenta Valley community in prayer.
All are invited to participate.
Lift Up La Crescenta meets on the second Sunday of every month at 2:00 p.m. in the lower parking lot of La Crescenta Library. Meetings include group prayer and prayer station assignments. Munay-Ki initiations at Center
The Center for Spiritual Living – La Crescenta is hosting Munay-Ki Initiations with Shaman Jim Dewell starting on Friday, Sept. 24 from 7-9 p.m.
The Munay-Ki are the nine great rites of initiation of the medicine way. The word munay means “I love you’ or “be as thou art.” The Munay-Ki are the nine gates that heal us and transform our human energy field into that of homo luminous.
