Tri-City Mega Mixer

Our first annual Tri-City Mega Mixer is just around the corner. You don’t want to miss this event! This mixer is hosted by USC-Verdugo Hills Hospital at 1812 Verdugo Blvd. in Glendale 91208. This is the first mixer here in the foothills community to combine three local chambers – Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce, Montrose-Verdugo City and Sunland-Tujunga. The event will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This unique mixer will incorporate a toy drive to benefit community charities and will also include a special presentation on “How to Survive in the Age of Amazon,” courtesy of Assemblymember Laura Friedman. For your convenience, you can purchase tickets in advance at the chamber office. Ticket prices are as follows: pre-sale members are $15, members’ price at door is $20 and non-members’ price is $25. You can also get in free by bringing an unwrapped toy worth at least $15. We hope you’ll join us in mingling with the many business owners and elected officials who will be attending this special event.

When attending an after-hours business mixer, here are some things to keep in mind. When you arrive at a mixer, come with an agenda. Have an idea of what you want to give or what you want to get. Don’t just hand out your business card and think that is networking – get to know people and give yourself time to establish relationships. Be aware of “netiquette” within the group and don’t violate “good networking” protocols. Remember to interact; don’t just eat another olive, listen to the speaker and leave. The best way to show character and competence is to contribute time and energy. Lastly, don’t give up too soon.

For our business friends, hosting a mixer is the perfect way to bring potential customers to your place of business. Our chamber mixers are generally held the second Wednesday of the month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. As with any event, we certainly hope you will join us and help support your local business community.
