Update on Creek Fire

 

Update on the Creek Fire, Dec. 10:

The Creek Fire is now at 90% contained and full containment is expected on Dec. 11.

As of now there have been 60 residences destroyed, 63 other structures destroyed, 54 residences damaged and 26 other structures damaged. (“Other structures” can refer to buildings including barns and sheds.)

The fire has consumed 15,619 acres. A Red Flag warning has been extended through 8 p.m. tonight, Sunday. Crews continue to patrol the area and improve the fire line. Community members are asked to use caution when driving around the area.

A damage assessment team continues to evaluate and record damage to all structures in the area.

As of 6 p.m. Friday evening, 15,619 acres were destroyed by the Creek Fire, but containment had risen to 70%. Twenty-five hundred structures were threatened, 56 residences were destroyed, 49 other structures were destroyed, 45 residences were damaged and 25 other structures destroyed. Two people were injured. 

The cause is still under investigation.
