Thomas Lukas Hughes of Sunland was among 1,488 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises Dec. 15 and 16.
Hughes earned a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Ryann Cerrina of La Cañada qualified for the fall 2017 dean’s list at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
Approximately 35% of Belmont’s 8,080 students qualified for the fall 2017 dean’s list.
Ranked No. 5 in the Regional Universities South category and named as a “Most Innovative” university by U.S. News & World Report, Belmont University is celebrated its 125th anniversary in academic year 2015-16.

Lucy Newcombe, sophomore, human development and family science, and Isabella M. Daher, senior, biohealth sciences, made the scholastic honor roll fall term at Oregon State University.
A total of 4,483 earned a B-plus (3.5) or better to make the listing. To be on the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.
