Foothill Freeway (I-210) Closures for Pavement Rehabilitation

The California Dept. of Transportation (Caltrans) will close portions of the Foothill Freeway (I-210), including some on- and off-ramps and connectors as part of a pavement rehabilitation project. Residents and local businesses located near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities. Water trucks will be used to minimize dust during working hours, and equipment movement during overnight work will be limited to reduce noise from back-up alarms. Some closures may start and end later (up to 1 p.m. the following day). All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.

Night time closures are necessary to minimize traffic delays and provide a safe work zone for construction crews and drivers. Drivers should plan ahead and use alternate routes.

The work on I-210 is part of a $148.5 million pavement rehabilitation project for a 9.7 mile section from the La Crescenta-Montrose area of Los Angeles County to Pasadena.

The new surface will provide a smoother drive for motorists and reduce the need for maintenance and further closures.

The project started in Sspring 2015, and is scheduled to be complete in summer 2018.

*Note that work may be done in additional areas further east.
