Public’s Help Requested by GPD

Glendale Police Dept. detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in locating additional victims relating to an indecent exposure investigation.

In August 2017, Glendale detectives began investigating a series of indecent exposure cases involving a male described as Asian, Filipino or Hispanic driving a black sedan. The suspect would park and contact females while they were walking to school and ask them questions. As the females approached the passenger side window, the suspect exposed his genitals.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified a total of six victims ranging from 16-23 years of age between August 2017 and January 2018. All the victims had similar encounters and descriptions of the suspect and vehicle involved. In addition to the black sedan, a fifth victim described a red Ford Explorer in a January case.

Through investigative leads and departmental resources, detectives identified 28-year-old Glendale resident Chad Nacapoy as the suspect involved in the indecent exposure cases. An arrest warrant was issued and Nacapoy was taken into custody on Jan. 24 in the City of Glendale.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed six counts of indecent exposure (314 (1) PC). Nacapoy is currently in custody and his bail is set at $30,000.00.

Anyone who may have been contacted by Chad Nacapoy or may have additional information is asked to contact Detective Suzanne O’Brien at (818) 548-3106. The Glendale Police Dept. reminds the community to promptly report crimes and suspicious activity by calling (818) 548-4911.
