Mixin’ It Up

Everyone has a different name for business mixers. Commonly known as an after-hours business mixer, these short but sweet events have much to offer. The Chamber’s mixers create an opportunity for members and non-members to mingle and build business relationships in an informal, relaxed business setting.

We promote mixers in several ways including sending out our eblast, posting on Facebook and our website and at the prior mixer. Our mixers are held 10 times per year, in partnership with other local business organizations, and attract professionals from many industries.

Come on out and join us for a night of networking and fun as we support Mattress Depot! Don’t miss this opportunity to make new connections and build clientele at this month’s mixer. Bring your business cards and mix and mingle with your fellow business members while enjoying beverages, delicious hors d’ oeuvres, and raffle prizes. This month’s mixer will be held at Mattress Depot on Wednesday, March 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 3812 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.

Verdugo Jobs Center (VJC) is promoting its Business Services Training Program. This On the Job Training program (OJT) is a grant-funded program designed to provide financial incentives to employers to hire unemployed individuals and to provide On the Job Training. The purpose of this grant is to offset employer’s operational costs of providing training and additional supervision related to hiring a new staff. Through this fund, the VJC is able to reimburse the business 50% of the employee’s wage rate, up to $5,000 per new hire. Did someone say bingo?? Don’t forget to save the date for our upcoming bingo night on March 24 at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. You can promote your business or organization by sponsoring a game for $100 to $300. We will advertise your business in the program and display your business name and logo. Additionally, sponsors get an opportunity to speak about their business, call out a game and/or count out the cash to the lucky winner! Tickets are on sale now at the Chamber office. Questions?
