Rosemont Preserve Fire Resilience Tour
Join FormLA Landscaping president Cassy Aoyagi on Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Rosemont Preserve to learn about the impact of landscapes on LA’s overall fire resilience.
This event is free to the public, all ages, no reservations required. Sturdy shoes, long pants, and a hat are recommended, as are water and sunscreen. Rain cancels event. Sorry, no pets please.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave.

GCC Hosting Job Fair
The annual Spring Job Fair at Glendale Community College will be held Tuesday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sierra Vista Plaza. More than 60 employers will have representatives on campus to meet and interview prospective employees. Those attending should bring a resume and dress for interviews. Employers include non-profits, companies and government agencies.

Hop Down to Foothill For Clean Up Day
The 2018 Foothill Community Clean Up Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to noon. This volunteer community service day provides the opportunity for students, families, service organizations, businesses and other groups to do some “spring cleaning” on Foothill Boulevard, aka La Crescenta’s “Main Street.” Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes and to bring work gloves.

DACC Prepares for Potential Debris Flows
The County of Los Angeles Dept. of Animal Care and Control (DACC) is working to provide safe sheltering for animals due to the anticipated moderate to heavy rainfall expected through Thursday. Evacuations were anticipated to occur in the La Tuna Canyon and Skirball fire areas beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21.
DACC encourages residents to monitor local news outlets, social media, and www.lacounty.gov/larain for updated information and a list of street closures. For those who are in need, animal sheltering is available now at below locations.

Dogs, Cats and small pets: Sylmar Recreation Center – AniSafe trailer (by DACC), 13109 Borden Ave., Sylmar
Voluntary evacuations in the La Tuna Canyon fire burn areas started at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21 from the 9000 block of La Tuna Canyon Road to Sunland Boulevard, from Day Street (north border) to Plainview Avenue (east border) to Sherman Grove Avenue (west border).
Mandatory evacuations in the La Tuna Canyon Fire burn areas have been in effect since 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21.
The 8300 block to 9000 La Tuna Canyon Road will be under a mandatory evacuation.
