Heart of Lending in the Heart of Montrose

Several people who have admired the building but had not yet been inside recently got a firsthand look at the office located at 2445 Honolulu Ave. in Montrose.

On Wednesday, March 21, a small crowd gathered in the midst of the pouring rain for the official ribbon cutting ceremony for Heart of Lending. And the rain was in no way a deterrent to the support from other business owners, organizations and our local dignitary reps who came out for the ribbon cutting. We gathered for the introduction of owner Susan Avakian-Koroghlyan and her team, along with the official scroll presentation to Heart of Lending by Vickere Murphy, district representative for State Senator Anthony Portantino, representing Senate District 25; Blake Dellinger, field representative for California State Assembly member Laura Friedman, District 43; Jason Maruca, field deputy for Supervisor Kathryn Barger, 5th Supervisorial District.

Victoria Malone, your MVCC executive director, presented to Susan the Glendale City scroll on behalf of Glendale Mayor Vartan Gharpetian, as well as the MVCC membership plaque.

All those in attendance learned firsthand why the name of the business is Heart of Lending.

In Susan’s own words, “My philosophy is simple … I’d like to create a lifelong relationship with my clients by being honest, working hard and always protecting their interests above all. It has been my privilege to have helped people buy homes and refinance their current homes.”

The statement that leads Susan in conducting her business: “Go the extra mile, it’s never crowded!” We also learned Susan comes from a family who has worked in the real estate and lending industry for over 20 years. She became a production assistant for five top producing loan originators. And, with that valuable experience of various lending procedures, she became licensed in 2014 to begin her own career path in mortgage lending. In 2017 she established “Your Legacy Financial, Inc. dba Heart of Lending.” Her legacy is “Every heart we’ve touched…”

When the ceremony concluded with the official cutting of the ribbon and photo opportunities, the group of supporters walked back through her office doors into the community knowing of Susan and one of her principles in life: I “choose to have a good reputation over great riches, because being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold [Proverbs 22:1]” – truly business from the heart.
