On March 24, Crescenta Valley residents and community members attended a safety seminar hosted by The Mastermind Group, a group of realtors from Dilbeck Real Estate, La Cañada. Guest speakers included CV Sheriff Station Deputy Eric Matjeka, Glendale Police Dept. officers Sgt. Patrick Magtoto and Officer Minas Tsolakyan, Security Expert Joseph Perez from Metro Patrol, as well as Cybercrime Specialist Josh Coswell from the San Bernardino Police Dept.
Understanding that crime comes in many different forms – burglary, robbery, theft, cybercrime – many attendees questioned how to guard their personal safety, the safety of their homes, families and their bank accounts, computers and more. The two-and-a half hour seminar answered many of those questions and gave attendees an opportunity to hear from the experts, ask questions, learn safety tips, understand common vulnerabilities in their homes and how to avoid them, and what cybercrime is and how to not be a victim.
One attendee, Emily Jan won a RING System donated by RING. Jan attended the seminar with her sister and both spoke very highly of the seminar.
“We really hope you do another seminar like this – our community needs this,” said Jan.
