CVTC Meeting
The monthly meeting of the CV Town Council is tonight, Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd. Scholarship distribution and a presentation about an AT&T cell tower are on the agenda.
Ceremony Planned for The Walton Cup
A short ceremony marking the installation of The Walton Cup at the La Crescenta Library will be held on Wednesday, May 23 at 6 p.m. The Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley was able, with generous donations from the community, to purchase the silver cup that was presented in 1915 by early residents to Robert A. Walton, one of the developers of Montrose, La Crescenta and the Oakdale area of the Crescenta Valley. On display along with the cup will be photographs of the Crescenta Valley and other local artifacts from the early 20th century.
All are invited to attend the ceremony.
The La Crescenta Library is located at 2809 Foothill Blvd.
Speeders Beware
Due to reports of excessive speed of vehicles traveling south on Rosemont Avenue form Orange Avenue to Montrose Avenue, the CHP and LASD will be increasing their patrol of the area.
Rosemont Preserve Open Gate Morning
Share the outdoors at the next “open gate” event on Sunday morning, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This is a chance for guests to visit the Rosemont Preserve and wander the trail at their own pace, enjoying the tranquil setting, the wildlife and the natural beauty. There’s also the chance to participate in the Rosemont Biodiversity Project and become a citizen scientist!
Friends of the Rosemont Preserve Committee members will be available to answer questions.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave, La Crescenta and then walk north two blocks to enter the Rosemont Preserve. Please bring water and wear sturdy shoes to walk the trail.
This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages. No reservations required, no pets please.

Orchestra Performs Annual Spring Concert
The Glendale College Community Orchestra, conducted by Beth Pflueger, will perform in concert on Sunday, May 20 in the auditorium at 3 p.m.
It is a full orchestra with complete woodwind, brass, percussion and string sections. The program includes a trumpet overture by Mendelssohn and a Martinu oboe concerto. Also featured will be Elgar’s “The Music Makers,” performed with the GCC Concert Singers directed by Peter Green.

Eddie Lund to Assume President’s Role
The Allen Lund Company announced the promotion of VP of Sales & Operations Eddie Lund to the position of president of Allen Lund Company, LLC. He transitions into the position after the recent passing of Mr. D. Allen Lund.
Eddie is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in finance. Upon graduation, he joined the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system for four years.
He began his career with the Allen Lund Company in 1994 as a broker in the Portland office and was promoted to assistant manager in 1995. Relocating to Texas, he took the reigns of ALC San Antonio in 1997 and in 2002 promoted to vice president – Sales and Branch Operations, moving to corporate headquarters in La Cañada Flintridge.
