Heurkins takes reins of IBA

It was announced that Crescenta Valley resident Holly Heurkins will be installed as the president of the Independent Brokers & Agents of Burbank, Glendale & Pasadena at the group’s annual installation banquet at the Oakmont Country Club on Oct. 14.
Two awards will also be presented at the banquet: the Member of the Year Award, which is given for outstanding service to the insurance industry, the local association and the greater Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena area and The James T. Armitage Scholarship. This award is given to an outstanding high school senior that has excelled in academics, community involvement and work activity that is an employee or a descendant of an employee of the member agencies. The award is $1,000 and is named after James Armitage who is a past president of the California State Insurance Agents and past state director for the National Association for Independent Agents. He is currently a principal of Arroyo Insurance in South Pasadena.
