The 38th Annual Lincoln 500, held on Friday at Lincoln Elementary School, kicked off when NASCAR took the first lap around the track. Then the Lincoln drivers and pit crew members took their positions to demonstrate teamwork and sportsmanship. They worked together in a close heated race.

All 22 high school senior scholarship award winners cheered on the racers. During the pre-race ceremony, Masonic Award winners Houry Meguerditchian and Jo VanAmburg were recognized. Certificated Employee of the Year Melinda Burkhart was announced along with Classified Employee of the Year Michael Dorsett.

The Lincoln 500 is sponsored by the Lincoln Dads Club.
