Lion’s Club Fire House Fundraiser 2
By Mary O’KEEFE
The Crescenta Cañada Lions Club is hosting a mixer for the Fire House youth center tonight. All are invited to attend and learn about the youth center, who it is they serve and what the future plans are including new programming.
The Fire House youth center was opened about eight years ago initially as a place where kids can relax and just be kids; however, over the years, it has taken on a leading role in the creation of the Crescenta Valley Skate Park, offered art classes and career counseling, supported local families in need, hosted Girl Empowerment Day programs, opened for Rosemont Middle School banking days and much more. All these things were accomplished on the foundation of “kid involvement.”
The Lions Club has supported the Fire House for many years and continues its support with tonight’s event. Everyone is welcome to join the Lions Club members at 2563 Foothill Blvd. from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be refreshments. The suggested donation is $15 with all proceeds going to the Fire House youth center.
