Aug. 4
2600 block of Ridgepine Drive in La Crescenta, a resident left his home unlocked. When he returned home he discovered that a family member’s vehicle was missing that had been parked in the driveway. He entered his home to discover several items stolen, including a computer and television, and the keys to the missing car were also gone. This is similar to another residential burglary that occurred in an unlocked residence in the same neighborhood. Car keys were also stolen from that home and the vehicle was stolen.
The initial incident occurred between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

 

Aug. 1
2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a man reported that his job picks up people from the Los Angeles airport and takes them on tours of the city. He reported that, as he was in the process of a tour, he stopped at the location on Community Avenue. A man who was part of the tour approached him and forcibly took the keys for his silver Lexus away from him and drove off with the car. The victim attempted to stop the man by standing behind the vehicle while it backed up, but the suspect continued in reverse, causing the man to move out of the way. The victim attempted to hold onto the door handle as the vehicle sped away. The victim was dragged several inches causing injuries to his leg.
Although the victim did not complain of any pain or injuries he was transported to USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. The incident occurred at 10:20 a.m.

 

2900 block of Los Olivos Lane in La Crescenta, a catalytic converter was stolen from a Prius overnight.

 

5000 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, a catalytic converter was stolen from a Prius overnight.

 

600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, someone attempted to pry open a door of a business between July 29 and Aug 1.

 

2900 block of Stevens Street in La Crescenta, a catalytic converter was stolen from a Toyota convertible between Aug. 1 and Aug. 5.

 

July 30
1200 block of El Vago Street in La Cañada, the wires were cut leading to a security camera at a home between April 1 and July 30.

 

July 29
4400 block of Oakwood Avenue in La Cañada, the right rear passenger window was shattered; nothing was reported missing. The incident occurred between 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

 

July 20
2600 block of Pinelawn Drive in La Crescenta, a resident had ordered a laptop computer online to be delivered to his home. He received a notice the item had been delivered and contacted a family member who was at the home to retrieve the item; however, when she went to the front porch it was not there. The delivery company told the resident it had placed it there between 10:51 a.m. and 11 a.m.
