Each year St. James-Holy Redeemer School and St. Bede School participate in a spelling bee sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. This event is open to fourth, fifth and sixth graders from both schools. It was held on Saturday. The winner of the spelling bee was fifth grade St. James-Holy Redeemer student Kenny Carpenter.
