On Dec. 16, members and husbands gathered to attend the Las Candelas annual holiday party.

“It’s the Hap-Happiest Time of the Year!” was the theme for the gala event held at the Valley Hunt Club. Cocktails and reception began at 5:30 p.m. followed by an elegant dinner of Caesar salad, grilled bistro flat iron steak, duck roasted Yukon gold potatoes, asparagus and oven dried tomato. Dessert featured English toffee pudding.

The festive evening included caroling by The Towne Singers Chambers Singers.

Las Candelas is celebrating 60 years of a group of women who provide volunteer service to emotionally disturbed children and promote better understanding of the mental health needs of the children of the community. This organization provides services at Glendale Healthy Kids, Glendale YWCA, Hillsides Education Center, Hathaway/Sycamores Center and the Didi Hirsch Mental Health, (formerly Verdugo Mental Health).
