“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” C.S. Lewis
Happy New Year! Let’s make this year the best ever! Set goals! Dream a new dream!  Make (and keep) resolutions!

On Associatedcontent.com, it says keeping those New Year’s resolutions are as easy as 1-2-3-4-5 and gave five easy steps to keeping those goals in mind.

First, make goals that are achievable. If you are currently a couch potato who’s 25 pounds overweight, then it’s nearly a sure thing that you will fail at a resolution that says something like, “Climb Mount Everest by the end of the year.”

2. Be clear about your goals. If you’re not sure what your goal is, that will be reflected in your resolution.

3. Write them down. Writing things down serves two purposes – it cements the goal in your mind and it gives you something to look back on to remind you what you aspire to.

4. Think carefully about your goal before you commit to it. If you want to be serious about this New Year’s resolution thing, you must be frank with yourself about those goals.

Finally, have fun with your resolutions. Put something really fun on your list like, “Finally learn how to make sushi (take a class)” or “Take an all-girls road trip to Vegas.” You might hold the fun thing until you complete other goals on your list like losing weight or getting out of debt. But putting something fun and frivolous on your New Year’s resolution list will give you something to look forward to as you do the hard work of improving your life.

Jump start your business in 2013 by joining us at Ocean View Bar & Grill for our January business mixer on Jan. 10. Ocean View Bar & Grill, at 3826 Ocean View Boulevard, is an upscale restaurant that brings the ultimate dining experience to Montrose. The restaurant features upscale gourmet fare that is authentic, flavorful and fun. Our mixer is a great time to see this fine establishment while mingling with 40-50 other business owners.
We have a few spots open for our annual installation of officers and directors, during which proceeds from this year’s Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Educational Endowment Fund will be distributed. The installation and luncheon is on Thursday, Jan 10 at the La Cañada Country Club, 5500 Godbey Drive, La Cañada Flintridge. Almost $15,000 will be distributed from the Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Educational Endowment Fund to so many worthy groups, such as Crescenta Valley schools, non-profit groups and medical facilities to help enrich educational services. To learn more about this program, please join us at our luncheon that will also include an incredible silent auction.
Here is to a prosperous New Year, Crescenta Valley!
