Penny Lane Gets Gifts from Dilbeck

For the eighth consecutive year, Dilbeck’s Studio City and Sherman Oaks sales partners fulfilled the special Christmas wishes of Penny Lane Children.

“Every year I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our sales partners, buying everything from makeup to scooters, slides and bicycles,” said Pamela Topa, Dilbeck branch manager. “I always tell them not to spend more than $20, but their hearts are so big, they often cannot resist giving the children exactly what they wished for.”

Several agents went so far as to purchase bicycles that some of the children were dreaming of. Marion Goodman and Jessica Acosta managed to get an additional six bicycles donated by “Bike Angels” in Burbank.

Penny Lane Centers is a nonprofit organization that cares for over 3,500 abused and neglected children, youth and families a month. They provide therapeutic residential services, foster family home placements, adoption services, transitional and affordable housing, family preservation, and wraparound and mental health services for children, youth and families throughout Los Angeles County.

Nydia Barakat, director of Fund Development at Penny Lane Centers, was grateful for the support.

“The same day I brought the toys [to the center] we distributed them. The bikes were a hit. With the amount of children that we serve, it is a big job to try to get donations of toys for the holidays, but knowing that I can count on organizations such as [Dilbeck], I know that we will make it happen. Thank you again for sharing in our mission to foster hopes and dreams.”
