Each of the Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Education Fund Grant awardees was given a headlamp to “shine a light on education.”

Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce held its 94th annual installation lunch last week at the Oakmont Country Club. The event honored officers and directors who are stepping down from the board, followed by the induction of the 2019 board of directors and recognizing new and returning board members. Serving as CV Chamber president is Mike Riley; vice president is Michael Baldwin; secretary is Robin Goldsworthy; treasurer is Craig Fisher; honorary mayor is Keith Hobbs; past president is Calvin “Kaipo” Chock.
The luncheon was also a time to award grants to non-profit organizations that support the community through education. The Mary Pinola/Crescenta Valley Chamber Education Fund grants were awarded to: the Assistance League of Glendale, Glendale Community College for Academic Success, CV High School Instrumental Music Program, Dunsmore Elementary School, Glendale Clean & Beautiful, Prom Plus, Rose Bowl Aquatics Center and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation.
The CVCOC supports businesses and the community through events and scholarships for local students. The mission of the Mary Pinola/Crescenta Valley Chamber Education Fund is to “enrich the lives of Crescenta Valley residents by supporting creative, innovative and exceptional education programs and leadership,” according to the grant’s website.
Since its creation in 1990, the Fund has granted hundreds of thousands of dollars to deserving educationally-driven organizations.
