The members of the La Crescenta Woman’s Club enjoy many different programs at the club throughout the year, but they especially enjoy music performed by local youth. It is exciting to see their talent progress as they advance through their senior year, sometimes even through community college.
Last December, Rosemont Middle School music teacher Rod Yonkers and a select group of his instrumental students set the proper holiday mood with their renderings of classic and popular Christmas music during the Breakfast with Santa event at the club.
On Jan. 12 club members enjoyed tunes of two Crescenta Valley High School seniors, Jonathon Blakely and Hallie Isquith. Jonathon played guitar and harmonized with Hallie on a set of seven pieces of old and new pop music, including “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me” and “Hallelujah.” Both students sing in the Charismatics choir at Crescenta Valley High School.
