Members of the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada recently honored Palm Crest School “Terrific Kids” during its luncheon meeting. Member Pat Flynn coordinated the event and each student was introduced by club members.
Terrific Kids is a regular Kiwanis program and event. Students are invited, along with their parents, to attend the meeting and to be individually honored by the club. Parents are provided with a bumper sticker that proclaims that their child is a “Terrific Kid.”
Honored were Nick Myskowski, a member of the GATE program who attends after school classes in advanced math. He plays soccer and hockey, as well as basketball, lacrosse and volleyball. Grace Bernstein is one of 11 children who helps out at home and at school. Elsa Sheehy is also a GATE member who enjoys math and is currently taking high school Spanish. She loves gymnastics, playing soccer, and spending time with her three older sisters. Kristin Kilaghibian is a terrific kid who enjoys science and writing. She likes playing basketball and tennis and would like to study medicine. Kathryn Wolhaupter is another GATE member. She enjoys science and math, as well as gymnastics and riding horses.
