On Oct. 17, Club 21 in Pasadena held its annual walkathon that raises money to support the programs and services it provides to children with Down syndrome and their families. Club 21’s mission is to provide the tools and resources that enable individuals with Down syndrome to be fully included in society. Lawrence Grassedonio, sales partner with Dilbeck Real Estate- Burbank office, is actively involved in this event. Grassedonio and his family are members of Club 21 and are active participants in the walk every year.
Grassedonio and his wife’s youngest daughter, Amanda, 7, has Down syndrome. They formed a team for the walk, Team Amanda, and raised money for Club 21 by asking people to join their team and donate.
“Club 21 has not only given our family a vision of what is possible for our daughter, but has helped us greatly in making that vision a reality,” said Grassedonio. “She has benefited immensely from the programs offered by Club 21, such as the Learning Program, where she has gained access to tools that help to supplement her traditional education and have helped her to become a more advanced reader.”
Grassedonio’s wife Pam is on the board of Club 21 and he is a member of the D.A.D.S. group – Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome.
“I can’t thank Dilbeck and its agents enough. This is the third year in a row that Dilbeck has supported the Club 21 Walkathon. The Dilbeck Charitable Foundation gave a sizable donation and sponsored the photo booth,” Grassedonio said. “And the Dilbeck agents were extremely generous with their support as well. It made me proud to be a part of such a great company and to work with so many great people. Altogether the walk raised over $165,000 for Club 21 and Dilbeck was a large part of that.”
