Katie Kim, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2022, has earned the spring 2020 dean’s award with distinction. Kim is an economics major from La Cañada Flintridge and is a graduate of Harvard-Westlake School.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses during the spring 2020 semester earn the dean’s award with distinction.

Colgate offers 56 majors and supports 25 Division I athletic teams on a campus of about 3,000 students in central New York.

Serena Collins from Sunland qualified for the fall 2020 dean’s list at Belmont University located in Nashville, Tennessee. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Approximately 55% of Belmont’s students this semester qualified for the fall 2020 dean’s list.

Melissa Dunnigan, a freshman at Biola University and resident of Sunland, was among 338 freshmen who received one the college’s highest scholarships – the president’s or provost’s scholarship – for the 2020/21 academic year. Dunnigan is studying English (BA) at Biola. Students who receive either scholarship have achieved a high level of academic excellence.

Freshmen students are eligible for the president’s and provost’s scholarship – $20,000 and $19,000 per year respectively – if, upon entering the university, they meet the requirements of the scholarship.

Students are considered for this scholarship upon admission to the university based on the combination of their GPA and SAT, both math and English, scores. According to Biola’s admissions department, recipients of the President’s scholarship have a minimum GPA of 3.88 and an SAT composite score of 1340. Recipients of the provost’s scholarship have a minimum GPA of 3.87 and an SAT composite score of 1120.

         Students must maintain a GPA of 3.2 while taking courses at Biola to receive the scholarship the following year.

The following students were among those who made the scholastic honor roll for the fall term at Oregon State University. A total of 8,378 earned a B-plus (3.5) or better to make the listing. To be on the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.

Students on the honor roll included Sophia R. Daher, a junior from Glendale studying public health and Tessa Coffey, a senior from La Cañada Flintridge studying art.

Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition. Andrew Kim, class of 2023, from La Cañada Flintridge has achieved dean’s list status.

Located in Lewisburg, Pa., Bucknell University is a highly selective private liberal arts university that offers majors in the arts, engineering, humanities, management, and social and natural sciences, along with broad opportunities outside of class, to its 3,600 undergraduates. Graduate programs are available in select disciplines. The University of Utah congratulated more than 9,700 students who were named to the fall 2020 dean’s list. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 graded credit hours during any one term.

Brennah Bronk, class of 2023, from Tujunga, was named to the fall 2020 dean’s list at Ripon College. Bronk is the child of Duane and Michelle Bronk of Tujunga.

To qualify for the dean’s list at Ripon College, students must achieve a 3.40 grade point average or higher on a 4.00 scale and complete at least 12 credits of regular letter-graded works.

Peter Hovland of Glendale and Allison Lombardo of La Crescenta have earned placement on the Gonzaga University dean’s list for fall semester 2020. Students must earn a 3.5 to 3.84 grade-point average to be listed.

Anissa Olona of Glendale, Andrew Calmette of La Cañada Flintridge and Sophia Atin of La Crescenta earned placement on the Gonzaga University president’s list for fall semester 2020. Students must earn a 3.85 to 4.0 grade-point average to be listed.

Lawrence Ku of La Cañada Flintridge was placed on the Gettysburg College dean’s honor list for outstanding academic achievement in the spring 2020 semester.

Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester’s work are placed on the college’s dean’s honor list.

Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni. The college enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students and is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.
