CV Insurance agent and Crescenta Valley Honorary Mayor Holly Heurkins purchased the first tickets to the Two Strike Memorial Wall Pancake Breakfast from Ken Jury, commander of American Legion Post #288, and Warren Spayth, Commander, VFW Post 1614.

The pancake breakfast is part of a series of fundraisers the Two Strike Memorial Committee has planned to help raise funds for the project.

The memorial will pay honor to those from Crescenta Valley who have served in the military and have given their lives for their country.

At present there is a small memorial located at Two Strike Park, however it was not designed to include individual names. The new design will not only have spaces for the names of those who had died while serving, but will include two flag poles, special lighting and will conform to the Los Angeles County building requirements.

The cost of the memorial is an estimated $75,000. The committee has already raised over $17,000.

The pancake breakfast will be held at Rosemont Middle School on Saturday, March 10 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Tickets are available at the CV Chamber of Commerce office and cost $5. Students from several clubs at Crescenta Valley High School will also be selling tickets.  Proceeds benefit the Two Strike Memorial at Two Strike Park.
