Verdugo Hills Hospital (VHH) announced the appointment of Robert E. Develle as chair of the VHH board of directors for a one-year term.

A resident of Pasadena, Develle has served on the VHH board since 2005 and has also served as chair of the VHH Strategic Planning Committee.

“VHH is a valuable asset to the community,” said Develle. “One of the things I learned as a member of the board is to think much broader when defining ‘community.’ Our service area extends as far as Tujunga and Sunland and often we don’t think of how vast an area we serve.

“Our main goal for the near term is to work our way through the new federal regulations on medical care so we can understand their affect on VHH and take the necessary steps to preserve VHH as a viable and sustainable health care provider for the community. This is a complex and somewhat fluid issue that will require a great deal of effort to resolve.”

Develle is currently Facilities Division Manager at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. He is responsible for all aspects of facilities management, including major capital improvement projects, minor construction projects, and operations/maintenance activities.

He previously served as manager of the Electrical Engineering Department at Jacobs Engineering Co., an international engineering and construction services provider. Prior to that, he was vice president of Engineering at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Develle has an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BSEE from Tulane University in New Orleans. He and his wife Wynn have two adult children.
