Dance for a Cause at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA

Funds raised will help residents from La Cañada Flintridge to Sun Valley learn, grown and thrive.

The Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA is hosting a dance-a-thon fundraiser on Saturday, March 10 as a part of its Community Support Campaign. The community is encouraged to participate and join the Y dance instructors for a full day of dancing for a purpose. Participation in this event will help the Y nurture the full potential of local youth.

The dance-a-thon will include a variety of dance formats from jazz funk to hip-hop. The dance-a-thon will be from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and participants can come for a few hours or dance all day. The donation requested per participant is $100. Children under the age of 12 can join for free with parent.

Financial gifts to the Y will help its community advance programming and services that support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Last year, financial support made it possible for one in 10 community members to have a safe place to learn and build confidence after school; for families to reconnect and grow together; and for people to access to education and training to reach their full potential.

This year, the YMCA of the Foothills hopes to raise $450,000. Funds raised will support scholarships and financial assistance, afterschool arts and sports, free family and adult support classes and the PLAY (physical education) Program in schools.
