Lynn McGinnis of American Legion Post 288, a retired history/civics teacher at Rosemont Middle School, was recognized by the Glendale Council PTA at its Founder Day Awards ceremony for his continued service and support to the students and youth in the Crescenta Valley community.

McGinnis has been an ardent supporter of the California Junior Scholarship Federation at Rosemont Middle School, and the annual California American Legion Boy’s State Program. He has been instrumental in the sponsorship of the Scouting program by Legion Post 288. The Post sponsors Cub Scout Pack 360, Boy Scout Troop 288 and Venture Crew 288. 

He also supports The Fire House teen center, CVHS Prom Plus and the CVHS Air Force Jr. ROTC program and other events that support youth groups.

In his acceptance of the award from the PTA, McGinnis acknowledged the support he received from his fellow Legionnaires.
