The Don José Verdugo Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, presented exceptional local high school seniors with the organization’s prestigious Good Citizen Award at a luncheon held in their honor recently.
The award, created in 1934, is presented to students selected on the basis of their outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service and patriotism. Those honored include Kenalyn Caron Ang, Flintridge Prep; Natalie Majich, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy; Alessandra Luckey, Crescenta Valley High School and Shushanik Stepanyan, Clark Magnet School. La Cañada High School senior Hannah Zimmerman was unable to attend but will be honored next month.
During the event, Good Citizens Chairman Barbara Rogers presented each student with a Certificate of Award; DAR Good Citizen lapel pin; a monetary award; copy of the U.S. Constitution and DAR material. Each recipient introduced parents and school representatives attending and spoke about the future and where they plan to attend college.
