Whether they came out for the horses, the food or the silent auction, everyone was a winner at the 7th Annual Crescenta Valley Day at the Races held at Santa Anita Race Track on Sunday.
The fundraiser benefitted the Montrose-Verdugo City and CV chambers of commerce and the CV Sheriff Support Group. Participants paid $25 for a ticket that included nine Thoroughbred races, parking, an official race program, barbecue lunch, soft drinks and “expert” handicapping advice from event organizer Rick Dinger.
“It was a great team effort and everybody had a great time,” said Dinger. “It could not have been a better day.”
Schreiner’s Fine Sausages and the Montrose chamber provided the food and CV Sheriff Captain Bill Song did the barbecuing. The CV chamber brought enough desserts to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.
