Las Candelas Hosts Benefit Luncheon, Fashion Show

President Nancy Stone welcomed luncheon guests.

The Las Candelas Benefit Luncheon and Fashion Show was held March 4 at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. Over 550 guests enjoyed a delicious lunch and fashion show featuring fashions for men and women by designer Lourdes Chavez. Funds raised at the biennial event will be used to support the philanthropic work of Las Candelas.

Organized in 1953 and incorporated in 1955, the mission of Las Candelas is to give volunteer service and financial assistance to help improve the lives of children and youth in vulnerable situations and to support awareness of their mental health needs. Philanthropies served by Las Candelas are Hillsides Education Center in Pasadena and Hathaway-Sycamores in Altadena. The group provides monthly programs and year-end parties for both facilities. Las Candelas also provides financial help to the Hillsides Youth Moving On program, the Glendale YWCA domestic violence program, Didi Hirsch Mental Health and Ascencia.
