The YWCA of Glendale is hosting the 14th Annual Legacy Luncheon on Thursday, May 31. Held at The Castaway Restaurant at 1250 Harvard Road in Burbank, the luncheon will honor recipients of Heart & Excellence Awards including Silva Hameline, Lori Hartwell, Ann M. Herrmann, Elizabeth Manasserian and Ellyn Semler. The keynote speaker is Christine Avaness, author of “Living Beyond Organic.”
The luncheon is also a fundraiser where many silent auction items will be available to bid on including dining and food gifts; theatre, outings, events and travel activities; exercise, beauty and self improvement gift baskets.
For over 30 years the Glendale YWCA has been a place of refuge to women and children who seek a way out of domestic violence. Families come to YWCA shelters from all of Los Angeles County. Last year, nearly 3,000 women received the gift of safety, hope and a chance for self-sufficiency and a fresh start with their children through the Glendale YWCA.
