Verdugo Hills Women’s Chorus to Lend Voices to Music Scholarship Concert

Members of the Verdugo Hills Women’s Chorus will be joining voices from across the state for the California Women’s Chorus 52nd Annual Convention and Concert on April 26-28. The convention will culminate in a benefit concert

“Celebrate Broadway!” on Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles in Monterey Park. The concert will showcase the members of CWC choruses as well as performances by this year’s winners of the CWC vocal music scholarships.

In addition to the Verdugo Hills Women’s Chorus, members of the popular local group Monday@JoJo’s will be performing. The ladies of La Crescenta-based Monday@JoJo’s have performed at a variety of events,

including worship services, fundraisers, holiday parties and much more. The group joined CWC in 2019 and are making their second appearance at the annual scholarship concert this year. Their mission is to share their love of music in their local community and to support CWC’s dedication to young voices through scholarship fundraising.

The California Women’s Chorus, Inc. is a non-profit organization devoted to the encouragement of choral singing among women throughout the state of California. Under its corporate charter, the philanthropic purpose of this organization is to raise funds for vocal scholarships that are presented at the annual CWC Convention Concert.

The Verdugo Hills Women’s Chorus began captivating audiences in the 1950s with PTA Mothersingers and have been making musical magic at local service clubs, church gatherings and retirement homes in La Crescenta and neighboring communities ever since. Under current musical director Ki Park, the third maestro in VHWC’s storied history, the chorus remains committed to fostering choral singing among women and is proud to be an original member of the California Women’s Chorus.
