The 1926 Lincoln (at left), owned by local father and son Thomas and Robert Russell, has taken home the grandest trophy of all – “Best in Show” – from the La Jolla Motor Car Classic on Sunday, April 3.
A judges’ favorite, the gorgeous limousine has received awards at The Concours d’ Elegance in Pebble Beach, The Palos Verdes Concours’ and recently at the La Quinta Classic Car Show.
Only two of these classic automobiles were ever produced, and no record exists tracing the destiny of the other. Once owned by Jack Warner, the Russells are proud of the hard work that went into restoring the Lincoln to show quality. They’ve also created a photo book journaling the entire process from pieces to prizes.
