Prom Plus, the post-prom event held for Crescenta Valley High School seniors and their guests, welcomed nearly 100 players to its annual bingo night held on Saturday at the American Legion Hall. The $15 admission fee paid for four bingo cards for the 10 bingo games plus a dauber.
According to Cheryl Davis, treasurer for the non-profit organization, about $2500 was collected from the event, though the tallying is not yet complete.
“We’re so grateful to our supporters, many of whom sponsored a game, and the veterans of the VFW and American Legion,” Davis said. “Because of their generosity in providing their expertise and use of their facility at no cost to Prom Plus we were able to raise nearly 10% of our annual budget. Plus everyone had a good time!”
Fifteen hundred dollars in prize money was distributed to the night’s winners.
For those still wanting to yell “bingo!” the CV Sheriff’s Support Group is hosting a bingo game on Friday, May 4, at the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.
