Father Gregory Boyle, a Jesuit priest and founder of Homeboy Industries and author of the New York Times best-selling book, “Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion,” will be speaking at a special luncheon at Glendale Adventist Medical Center on Thursday, May 28 from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Glendale Rotary Club, Glendale Sunrise Rotary, Glendale Moonlight Rotary and, in part, by Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles has been helping youth in challenging environments become productive members of society for more than 25 years. Father Boyle’s unwavering love for the most disenfranchised is truly inspirational. Participants will learn about the entertaining, heartwarming and unlikely story of how Father Boyle became an expert in gang life and how his powerful mantra, “jobs not jails,” is changing the way he approaches rehabilitation and reform for those looking for a way out of the cycle of violence and trauma.
Admission is free. Space is limited. Participants must reserve a space at (818) 409-8100.
