Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts formed a new community partnership with Doheny Eye Institute for the 2024 Pasadena Showcase House of Design, while lauding its longtime partner Dunn-Edwards Corporation – a partner since the first Showcase House, which took place in 1965.
Doheny Eye Institute, whose overarching vision is to have the greatest impact on human eyesight by leading the field with groundbreaking research and superior education programs, is donating the use of its lot to help offset Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts’ need to rent parking space for volunteers and staff. The lot was also made available for special events, such as the Empty House Party, which took place in January.
“In order to mitigate cars, traffic and noise in the neighborhood where the Potter Daniels Manor is located, it’s crucial that we provide off-site parking for our many volunteers, designers and vendors,” said Dotty Ewing, this year’s benefit chair for Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts. “This year, Doheny Eye Institute eased this burden by becoming a valued community partner and making their parking lot available to us during the 2024 Pasadena Showcase House of Design. This is our only fundraiser throughout the year, and Doheny’s generosity enables us to raise more money for our cause.”
Since 1948, the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts has raised more than $25 million to support music and the performing arts throughout Southern California providing grants to local non-profit organizations while also funding its own outreach programs for youth.
This year marks the 59th Pasadena Showcase House of Design featuring 27 designers transforming the historic Potter Daniels Manor. Time-selected tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at https://pasadenashowcase.org/showcase-house/.
