Hollywood Movie Shines Spotlight on Helping Haiti

“Eyes to See” director David de Vos during filming in Haiti.

La Cañada Presbyterian Church will be screening “Eyes to See” on Friday night, June 3 at 7 p.m. as part of its Faith Missions Outreach. There will be a Q&A after with the filmmakers.

La Crescenta resident and filmmaker David de Vos traveled to Haiti with a missions team right after the Jan. 12, 2010 magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the island nation to assist with relief efforts. Upon his return, inspired by his experiences there, de Vos wrote, produced and directed a 30-minute drama, “Eyes to See.”

Through a unique partnership with Hope Outreach International, a Haitian humanitarian and development organization, proceeds from “Eyes to See” will directly help earthquake victims still struggling to rebuild their lives.
