For 35 years the dental offices at 4519 Castle Road have been synonymous with family dentistry.

When patients enter the La Cañada Dental Group they are entering a dental office home.

“We have [patients] that came here when they were children and now they bring their children,” said Sonia Tomic, front office.

There are even third generation patients. Grandparents who started going to the office when they had their children now bring their grandchildren.

Regular patients and visitors can come into the office to get information about these types of braces. Doctors can evaluate visitors to see if they are candidates for Invisalign and explain the procedure.  The office is offering a special for that day that includes $500 off the Invisalign treatment, free X-rays and photos equaling a $400 value in addition to a complimentary teeth whitening, a value of $225.

Another offer is available for those who are not interested in Invisalign – $100 off “ZOOM,” an in office tooth whitening that includes a take home whitening system with trays and bleaching gels. This is a total savings of $325.

Doctors David Garrett, Robert Tahani and in house Periodontal Specialist Dr. Chris Acone all offer the most up-to-date dental care with the personal touch of a family dentist.

Dr. Garrett has been practicing dentistry for over 40 years. He is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Dentistry. He served in the Air Force during Vietnam and is well known and respected in the foothills community. In addition to his practice Dr. Garrett teaches dentistry at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Tahani is a graduate of Boston University School of Dental Medicine. He is best known in the community as “Dr. Bob.” Following dental school, Dr. Bob completed a yearlong residency program at the Loma Linda Veterans Administration Hospital. He is also board certified in the field of sedation dentistry.

Dr. Acone is a periodontist who is a graduate of USC. He takes care of all patients who suffer from severe periodontitis and require the care of a specialist. He is also the implant doctor for the practice.   La Cañada Dental Group believes implant placement is best accomplished in the hands of a specialist.

Tomic added that the doctors and office staff stress the importance of preventative dentistry through education. Everything from brushing [techniques] to new toothbrushes help patients maintain healthy teeth and gums.

The practice offers general dentistry, implants and periodontal treatment, veneers (Lumineers), crowns and bridges, dentures and partials, root canal therapy, mercury-free tooth colored fillings, extractions, laser dentistry and cosmetic whitening. They also offer sleep dentistry.

“With sleep dentistry you are conscious through the dental procedure. You are relaxed but not asleep,” Tomic said.

She added the procedure is to reduce the anxiety for patients who do not want to be sedated during procedures. It allows them to have a faster recovery time without being groggy.
