Local Resident Ralph Walker’s Art Selected for Arts4ALZ

The artwork of local resident Ralph Walker has been selected for display as part of the Arts4ALZ’s Memories in the Making exhibition to be held June 14 at the Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica. Walker participated in the Alzheimer’s Support Group at the YMCA of the Foothills where he was connected with the program.

Memories in the Making is an art program for people with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias that offers a non-verbal way of communicating and capturing moments through art.

Each year Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles hosts a gallery exhibition and auction of the amazing artwork created by Memories in the Making participants. This event provides an opportunity for families to enjoy the art while raising funds for Alzheimer’s of Greater Los Angeles.

“I didn’t know I was a famous painter … where’s my check?” joked Walker upon learning of his artwork’s selection.

Walker attends the Alzheimer’s support group held at the Verdugo Hills Family YMCA with his wife Mickey.

Registration and more information for the event can be found at www.alzgla.org or by contacting Annie Oh at (323) 930-6271 or aoh@alzgla.org.
