The Glendale Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. will hold its 17th annual “From the Heart” American Red Cross Blood Drive on Sunday, June 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held at the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, 1812 Verdugo Blvd., Glendale, in Council Rooms A-D.

The summer is a time when blood supplies are very low and donors are urgently needed. Members of the community are encouraged to make an appointment to donate by emailing nclglendalefromtheheart@gmail.com or by signing up for this drive on the American Red Cross website at redcross.org and entering sponsor code nclglendale. All donors will not only receive a $10 gift card after the event but they will also be entered in a drawing for two sets of two Knott’s Berry Farm tickets. Donors are also treated to homemade cookies and treats made by the mother and daughter Chapter members.

“Our Chapter’s blood drive is one of the most successful in the area and this year we hope once more to meet or exceed 100 blood donations and potentially save 300 lives,” said Michelle DeMonteverde, Chapter co-president. Chairing the event are members Marissa Nelson, Fiona Wertheimer and Megan Crossland.
