At the NACUSAC 2015 Annual Business Meeting the association held an election to fill three vacant seats on the board of directors. Among those elected was La Crescenta resident Tom Suter as NACUSAC Secretary Wescom Credit Union Supervisory Committee.

Katharine E. Crowder of Tujunga was named to Binghamton University dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester and spring 2015 semester. This honor recognizes students who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Bucknell University released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the 2015 spring semester. Dean’s list students have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0.
Stephanie Beck and Daniel Lazier of La Cañada Flintridge and Kailey Tindle of Glendale were named to the dean’s list at Bucknell University for the spring semester of 2014-15 academic year.
Located in Lewisburg, Pa., Bucknell University is a highly selective private liberal arts university that offers majors in the arts, engineering, humanities, management, and social and natural sciences, along with broad opportunities outside of class, to its 3,600 undergraduates.

La Crescenta resident Gavin Traber, a sophomore molecular and cellular biology major at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas is among more than 1,200 university students included on the dean’s list for grades achieved during the spring 2015 semester.
The dean’s list is published each semester by Dr. Larry Long, university provost, honoring those who have achieved high scholarship. To be eligible, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.

Lara Adamiak of La Cañada earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Adamiak graduated magna cum laude. Adamiak participated in the university’s Honors Program designed to provide smart, passionate and engaged students with challenges and opportunities to allow them to achieve their intellectual goals. It emphasizes teaching excellence, small seminar-style classes, and a core curriculum of innovative courses. Matthew Cannata of La Cañada earned a bachelor’s degree in finance. Joshua Chi of La Crescenta earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and finance. Chi graduated cum laude. Sara Gangi of Glendale earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing.
Laura McClelland of La Cañada earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing. McClelland graduated magna cum laude.
Sarah Phillips of Glendale earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies. Phillips graduated summa cum laude. William Thompson of La Crescenta earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Thompson graduated cum laude. Thompson completed the requirements for graduation in January of this year.
Porter Tolkin of La Cañada earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. Elisa YiDonoy of La Cañada earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies.

Andrea Miller of La Cañada has earned an undergraduate degree from California Lutheran University. Miller graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing communication. Miller completed the requirements in the fall term and was eligible to participate in the 2015 Undergraduate Commencement held May 16 in William Rolland Stadium.

Sarah Elaine Lowenthal of La Crescenta has accepted membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS). NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first-year and second-year college students.

Army and Navy Academy’s 104th commencement ceremony was held on Saturday, June 6. Diplomas were presented by Dr. Lisa Basista, dean of Academics, in the Saturday afternoon ceremony, along with special awards.
Graduates included Ian Kim of Shadow Hills who he is enrolling at Pepperdine University and Brandon Um of La Cañada who is enrolling at the University of California, Irvine.
