Future Vaquero, Current Falcon are Low Qualifiers

The Insurance Brokers and Agents of Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena held the local qualifying tournament for the Trusted Choice Big “I” Junior Classic on June 19 at the Oakmont Country Club. The low qualifier in the boys division was Tavit Garabedian shooting two over par 74. Tavit will be playing golf for Glendale College next year.

The low girl qualifier was Audrey Chung, a member of the Crescenta Valley High School golf team. She played from the men’s tees and shot 84.

Connor Muir, who will be attending Fresno State in the fall, shot 75.

Also scoring low enough to move to the second stage of qualifying were Brandon Cho and Golden Knight golfer Johnny Brandt.

The youngest boy in the field, playing in the qualifier for a second year, was 14-year-old Rosemont student David Holeman, shooting a respectable 84.

The next stage of qualifying for the National Championship will be the Big “I” Junior Classic California State Tournament to be held at De Laveaga Golf Course in Santa Cruz July 12 and July 13. The golfers who qualify from the state tournament will advance to the National Big “I” Junior Classic held at the University of Texas Golf Club August 7-10.
