La Crescenta resident Robin Johnson promoted the book she contributed to, “Ennobling Business Success” during “Local Author Day” at Vroman’s Bookstore on Sunday, June 25 in Pasadena. An international bestseller in nine countries, Johnson’s work focuses on the human side of business for developing organizational “agility, resilience and excellence.”

Following COVID’s disruption of work patterns, the book gives alternatives to past mindsets such as those who call for an eight-to-five schedule and an in-office presence for employees.

Johnson described the book as an “anthology” that provides her perspective well as 13 other authors and their sets of “golden nuggets” that can influence individuals at all levels to create workplaces “where people want to stay, instead of wanting to leave.”

“Charity and forbearance has a positive influence on the bottom line,” said Johnson. Reframing questions are key and are one of the “golden nuggets.”  Instead of asking, “How can we prevent a 50% turnover in middle management positions?” instead ask, “How can we create a magnetic work environment?” for example.

Following Johnson’s remarks was a 10-minute Question & Answer session with her audience of some 30 readers.

Johnson received a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) degree from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, she has an MBA with an emphasis in organizational behavior from Brigham Young University.
