Andrew Frost Beckner of La Cañada Flintridge, a University of Mississippi student, was listed on the chancellor’s honor roll for the spring 2012 semester. For the honor, a grade-point average of from 3.75 through 4.0 is required of full-time students carrying at least 12 semester hours.

Catherine Karayan of Glendale has begun a two-year clerkship with the United States Tax Court in Washington, DC. In May, Catherine earned her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University where she edited “The Hotchpot” and chaired the Tax LL.M. Class Gift Committee. An active member of the California State Bar, Catherine graduated from USC School of Law in 2011 where she was a judicial extern under Hon. Zaven Sinanian, founded and was the president of the USC Art Law Society, and served as content editor for the “Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal.”

The following local residents were among 610 students who made the dean’s list at California Lutheran University for the spring semester:

Douglas Drugan of La Cañada Flintridge is a graduate majoring in criminal justice. Brittany Johnson of La Cañada Flintridge is a junior majoring in business administration. Daniel Mock of La Cañada is a junior majoring in economics and political science. Katelyn Martin of La Crescenta is a sophomore majoring in marketing communication.

Students qualify for the dean’s list by maintaining a 3.6 grade point average in their academic subjects.

CLU is a selective university located in Thousand Oaks with centers in Oxnard and Woodland Hills for graduate courses and its adult degree evening program.

Seung-Yun Song and Jooyoung Lee of La Cañada earned academic honors at Purdue University for the spring 2012 semester.

To earn honors, students must have had at least a 3.5 semester or cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Purdue University is a vast laboratory for discovery. The university is known for its science, technology, engineering and math programs and its spirit of imagination, ingenuity and innovation.

Annelise Thompson of La Cañada Flintridge was one of 314 students named to Denison University’s 2012 spring semester dean’s list by Provost Bradley Bateman. Students who achieve dean’s list status have maintained a grade point average of 3.7 or better (out of 4.0) for the semester. Thompson is a member of the Denison class of 2013.

Denison University, founded in 1831, is an independent, residential liberal arts institution located in Granville, Ohio.

Christopher Soohoo, a resident of La Canada Flintridge and a sophomore at Southern Methodist University, was named to the honor roll that includes students in the top 15 percentile.

Lindsey Soderstrom, a resident of La Crescenta, made the Whittier College spring 2012 dean’s list. Undergraduate students are awarded dean’s list honors if he or she earns a 3.70 grade point average (GPA) while completing a full-time course load (12 units) in the fall and spring terms.

Drew University student Hallie Isquith of La Crescenta has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester. In order to qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or above, which is equivalent to a B+ or better.

Founded in 1867, Drew is a selective, independent, coeducational university with a total enrollment of more than 2,300 students in its College of Liberal Arts, Caspersen School of Graduate Studies and Theological School.

Heather Beadles of La Cañada Flintridge received a Master of Bus Administration degree with a major in Master of Business Administration during spring commencement ceremonies at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in May. Bachelor’s degrees were awarded to 713 students while 110 students received master’s degrees.
