Gabrielle Xena Stanton of Sunland, a junior majoring in mechanical engineering, was named a presidential scholar for the spring 2023 semester at Clarkson University.
Presidential scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.
On its main campus, located in Potsdam, New York, with additional graduate program and research facilities in the New York Capital Region, Beacon, New York, and New York City, Clarkson educates 4,300 students across 95 programs of study in engineering, business, the arts, education, sciences and health professions. At the University of Alabama Abigail Ahlers of Montrose received a degree from the Master of Library & Information Studies, Jack Oxley of La Cañada received a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce & Business Administration, and Hazel Valentine of La Cañada received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication & information sciences.

Andrew Kim of La Cañada Flintridge was among 800 Bucknell University graduates from the Class of 2023. The class represents over 60 majors across Bucknell’s three colleges (Arts & Sciences, Engineering and the Freeman College of Management). These students hail from 33 U.S. states and 25 nations. Kim also earned dean’s list recognition for the spring semester.
Also earning dean’s list recognition was Hanan Phillips, Class of 2026, from La Cañada Flintridge.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison recognized students named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year. Among those were Eliza Sullivan of La Cañada Flintridge who attends the College of Letters and Science. Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction.

Oregon State University graduated more than 7,300 students during ceremonies held Saturday, June 17 at Reser Stadium in Corvallis and Sunday, June 18 at OSU-Cascades in Bend. Among these were Brittany Morales from Burbank who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal sciences; from Glendale: Michael Ako who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology; Colene Encarnado who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science; Jason Lee who earned a Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude, in economics; Elizabeth Malick who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology; Haley Vanderford who earned a Doctor of veterinary medicine, veterinary medicine – DVM; Eric Vartanian who earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science; from La Cañada Flintridge: Gregory Navasarkian who earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science; Michelle Lee of La Crescenta who earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science. Julia Kennedy from Montrose who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology; from Tujunga: Bryan Andrade who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science; Brandon Hong who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.
7,583 degrees were distributed; 238 students received two degrees, two received three degrees and one received four degrees. OSU’s 2023 graduates represent 34 of Oregon’s 36 counties, 50 states and 71 countries.
The graduates will add to the ranks of OSU alumni, who have earned 287,469 degrees over the university’s 154-year history.
