Legislators to Honor 30 Outstanding Women in Business

State Senator Carol Liu (D-La Cañada Flintridge) and Assemblymembers Mike Gatto (D – Los Angeles) and Anthony Portantino (D-La Cañada Flintridge) will be recognizing 30 exceptional businesswomen at the 13th Annual Women in Business Legislative Update and Awards luncheon on Aug. 17.

Each year, the Women in Business Awards honor local women whose exceptional abilities have contributed to the economic vitality and diversity of the 21st State Senate and 43rd and 44th Assembly districts. Previous recipients include CV Weekly publisher Robin Goldsworthy.

Of the 30 recipients, several hail from the Crescenta Valley and surrounding areas including Outstanding Small Businesswomen Emma Garabetian of Modella Uniforms, Pasadena/La Crescenta and Patty Parker, Verizon Wireless Franchise, Los Angeles/La Cañada Flintridge;

Outstanding Non-Profit Employee Ramella Markarian of Glendale Adventist Medical Center; Environment/Energy Efficiency awardee Hilda Morovati Pirim of EmbroidMe; Empowerment Award recipient Robin McCarthy of Women at Work, Pasadena; Most Inspirational Award to Mariacruz Lujan of Eufloria Flowers in Eagle Rock and Carolyn Rowley of Cayenne Wellness Center in Glendale.

Lt. Lola Abrahamian, Glendale Police Department is being recognized for the category of Woman In Law and honored in Women in Science & Technology are Linh Chen of Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale/La Cañada Flintridge and Cheryl Lee Jung of Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale/South Pasadena

Woman in Arts & Entertainment will salute Taline Bessos of Taline Music, Glendale/La Cañada Flintridge.
