More than 100 cancer survivors celebrated their victory over cancer at Glendale Memorial Hospital’s annual Cancer Survivor Celebration on July 28.
Organized and hosted by the hospital’s Marcia Ray Breast Center, cancer survivors were recognized and celebrated for their spirit and dedication to fighting cancer.
Glendale Mayor Laura Friedman, herself a cancer survivor, spoke before giving the Marcia Ray Breast Center a commendation. Friedman was diagnosed with breast cancer at the Marcia Ray Breast Center in 2006.
In addition, Glendale Memorial’s Elaine Ramirez, RN, who manages the hospital’s oncology unit, received the Donald L Bogdon Cancer Survivor Award, a recognition for those who have distinguished themselves in fighting against cancer.
