Russell Marki of La Cañada Flintridge was named to the University of New Hampshire’s dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester. Marki is majoring in mechanical engineering.
Students named to the dean’s list at the University of New Hampshire are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance during a semester enrolled in a full-time course load (12 or more graded credits). Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.

At the University of Rhode Island’s 132nd commencement, held on Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20, about 3,300 undergraduate and 750 graduate students became the University’s newest alumni.
Erica Yoo Kyung Lee of Montrose received a Doctor of Pharmacy magna cum laude. Students who received the honor magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50.

Drew University student Julia Morreale of La Cañada, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in psychology, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.6 or above.

Lily Wu of La Cañada Flintridge was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Wu is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences.
To qualify for the dean’s list in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.
Washington University draws students to St. Louis from about 100 countries and all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The total student body is more than 14,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students with a faculty of approximately 3,800.

Colin Apel, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2021, has earned the spring 2018 Dean’s Award with Distinction. Apel is a graduate of Capistrano Connections Academy from La Cañada Flintridge. Apel’s current major is biology.
Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses during the spring 2018 semester earn the Dean’s Award with Distinction.

Jason Rowton of La Cañada was named to Fort Lewis College’s dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester. Rowton’s major is economics.

University of Dallas men’s track & field student-athlete Daniel Layton of La Cañada Flintridge recently helped the team garner All-Academic Team honors for the 2017-18 NCAA Division III seasons by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Among nearly 300 teams honored, the University of Dallas men’s team boasted a cumulative team GPA of 3.17 and the women’s team 3.12.
